MATCH List

A card-network database of merchants terminated for cause, historically called the Terminated Merchant File. A MATCH listing makes new approvals difficult, but merchants can often address the underlying reason and pursue removal or a specialist review.

Being on the MATCH list is serious but not always permanent. Understanding why a business was listed — and correcting it — is the first step toward getting back into processing.
